Summer Hols West - Quantum Leaps

Quantum Leaps - Golden, BC

Heading into the bush (sorry, forest) to go to Quantum Leaps.
It was on these dirt roads that we discovered that the "TCS" button switched off the traction control in the Mustang, resulting in much dust spread all over, well, pretty much everything :-)

The lodge where the civilised people slept.

The teepee down on the river where the Fowlers slept.

We figured that the emblem on the side basically said "those that sleep in this teepee will be eaten by bears."

Dinner on the verandah.

Time for bed.
This teepee had all the modern conveniences like, um... beds and a fire.
There was running water just outside the front door (Blaeberry River) and if you held you phone just right, nearly one bar of mobile reception.

Next morning.

Aah choo!

Collecting eggs for breakfast.

Off to the local Wolfatorium.

"What? Are you my dinner?"

I see a yummy little eight year old girl...

Next stop, Emerald Lake - A lake discovered and named by the famous explorer Johann Augustus Emerald - nothing to do with the colour of the lake whatsoever.

I understand that the local moose population uses the lake as a kind of toilet, hence the intense green hue.

Back to Quantum Leaps for a quick trip down the river on a raft.

Hey, aren't you supposed to be rowing rather than taking photos?

Turns out that the local mud is rather muddy.

Like mother, like daughter.
(dirty, dirty people...)

So, of course, we had to do some washing.

And while waiting for the washing to dry, some of the local wildlife decided to inspect our progress.

Oh no! Time to leave Quantum Leaps :-(

Next stop - Lake Okanagan.
